DESIGN

With a length of 3,620mm, a width of 1,652mm, a height 1,577mm, and a wheelbase of 2,400mm, the five-door and four-seater vehicle is ideal for urban mobility. The exterior design of the Leapmotor model is enhanced by distinctive elements like the curved front face, which provides the vehicle with a friendly and elegant feeling. The panoramic sunroof and the two-tone design enhance its aesthetic appeal. The 15” aluminium alloy wheels with petal-shaped spokes complete the exterior.

Moreover, T03 is equipped with a state-of-the-art lighting system, as exemplified by its curved and sharp DRL LED, which include automatic mode and the “Guide Me Home” function, as well as the eye-catching rear LED taillights, which have been enhanced with an impactful design and sharp edges. ELECTRIC POWERTRAIN AND CHASSIS

The T03 is equipped with an electric powertrain which was developed by Leapmotor entirely on its own. The heart of the system is a 37.3 kWh battery which offers 165 miles of range in the WLTP Combined cycle and up to 245 miles range in Urban Cycle. This system is managed by an Intelligent Battery Management System (BMS) which utilises cloud technology to monitor the state of the battery in real-time and to guarantee that it always operates within an optimal temperature range. Specifically, the electric motor develops a maximum power of 70 kW (95 hp) and a maximum torque of 158 Nm, which makes it incredibly efficient for everyday driving.

Thanks to the lightness of the design, the integrated controller reduces the weight of the system by 28.8%, while increasing the use of space by 51.9%. Engine silence is yet another point of pride for the vehicle, with noise levels remaining low at 76 dB. The model offers three driving modes, each of which has been designed to adapt to various driving conditions and driver preferences. ECO mode optimises regenerative braking and provides smoother power response, which is ideal for maximising efficiency. SPORTS mode offers faster power response, with moderate regenerative braking. Lastly, STANDARD mode offers a balance between the two, with its softer regenerative braking allowing the vehicle to move slowly after the accelerator is released. The steering assistance is just as versatile and also includes three distinct modes: COMFORT mode increases assistance, making the drive lighter and more comfortable; SPORTS mode reduces steering power, offering more precise and dynamic control; and finally, STANDARD mode is a compromise between the previous two and offers a balanced steering experience. The vehicle also features a front MacPherson suspension and a rear roll and torsion bar in one combined system. This setup ensures balanced weight between the axles (close to the ideal ratio of 1:1) and provides stable and comfortable driving both in urban use and on longer journeys. The model also sports a highly efficient braking system which includes an electric parking brake and front and rear ventilated braking discs to improve heat dissipation, leading to enhanced durability. Additionally, the regenerative braking system converts kinetic electrical energy during braking and stores it in the battery for later use, which leads to lower maintenance costs and improved overall energy efficiency. Finally, the T03 is compatible with Type 2 and CCS2 charging connectors and includes an onboard charger of 6.6 kW and a maximum DC charging power of 48 kW. The home charging time from 30% to 80% is around 3.5 hours, while utilizing a DC charging station for the same time requires just 36 minutes.

SAFETY

The T03 features an incredibly robust body-cage structure built to provide the greatest protection to its occupants. The vehicle body has been continuously laser brazed along all the roof lines in accordance with the highest European safety standards. The one-piece, all-aluminium alloy anti-collision beam is a unique element which offers a protection ratio of more than 60%. This structure is accompanied by high-strength steel (60% of the body) and a design created to effectively absorb energy from potential collisions.

Moreover, the T03 inherits smart technology from Leapmotor, which has designed an advanced hardware platform with three cameras, two-millimetre wave radars, and three ultrasonic radars. This system allows for the implementation of up to 10 ADAS functions, offering L2-level intelligent driving. Thanks to remote OTA (Over-the-Air) upgrades, the model keeps its driving-assistance capabilities up to date, which ensures constant improvement. The ADAS system features advanced functionalities like Lane Departure Warning (LDW), which warns the driver if he or she leaves the lane, and Lane Keeping Assistance (LKA), which provides light steering correction. The Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) automatically adjusts speed based on the preceding vehicle, while the Forward Collision Warning (FCW) and the Automatic Emergency Brake (AEB) intervene if there is any imminent danger. The system also includes intelligent speed assistance, which recognises speed-limit signs and displays them on the instrument cluster. Furthermore, T03 is equipped with other advanced functions like driver drowsiness warning, which uses facial recognition cameras to monitor driver fatigue, and Blind Spot Detection (BSD), which alerts drivers of vehicles in their blind spots. Lastly, the vehicle also includes Door Opening Warning (DOW), which warns the driver and passengers of approaching traffic when a door is about to be opened, preventing potential accidents.

INFOTAINMENT AND CONNECTIVITY

T03 is equipped with a state-of-the-art infotainment system which features ease of use, advanced connectivity, and next-generation technologies. The heart of the system can be found in the 8-inch instrument display and 10.1-inch central display, which offer an intuitive visual interface for all of the main vehicle functions. One of this system’s strengths is its Over-the-Air (OTA) upgrades, which eliminate the need to visit an assistance centre to update the software.

T03 includes 4G connectivity, which monitors and constantly improves the system’s functionalities. Its cloud services allow one to remotely understand the vehicle’s condition and provide services such as real-time diagnostics and communications. The model also features the Intelligent Voice Interaction System which, thanks to a high-quality microphone, accurately recognises commands and allows the driver to manage functions like navigation, communication, and the control of multimedia systems. Enabled both via vocal commands and a steering wheel button, the voice device guarantees safer and more convenient driving. Additionally, the T03’s infotainment system offers a complete range of functionalities, including air-conditioning control, lighting, and the management of calls and contacts. It is possible to activate or deactivate the Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, adjust screen brightness, control the music, and manage the navigation systems through vocal or manual commands. Lastly, thanks to the Leapmotor app, T03 owners can remotely control many of the vehicle’s functions, including door lock/unlock, air conditioning control, and battery preheating. Moreover, in the absence of connectivity, it is possible to use the Bluetooth key to lock or unlock the vehicle.
