JEEP CHEROKEE, A PRIVILEGED OBSERVATION POINT ON THE WORLD

An exciting sequence of landscapes observed through the seven-slot grille, the typical design element of the brand: from mud, to sand, from water to tarmac. This is the vantage point of the new TV spot devoted to the 2.2 MultiJet II engine which places the Medium SUV Jeep at the top of its category for performance and efficiency.

The new TV spot devoted to the Jeep Cherokee, the car which is both cutting-edge and true to the Jeep tradition at the same time, is on-air in the UK and will soon be watched by viewers in other countries across Europe. The commercial was created by the creative agency Leo Burnett and directed by Ago Panini for Alto Verbano studios.

The spot shows an exciting sequence of wild landscapes and metropolitan scenes seen from a privileged point: through the seven-slot grille, the typical style element of the Jeep brand. Each slot represents a continent - Africa, South America, North America, Antarctica, Asia, Europe and Oceania - coming together to express the most authentic spirit of adventure in the Jeep's DNA.

The 200 hp of the new 2.2 MultiJet II engine, which appears on a Fiat Chrysler Automobiles model for the first time, more precisely on the Medium SUV Jeep, champs at the bit behind the famous grille of the Jeep Cherokee. The commercial is an epic tale told through pictures, music and the words of the claim 'Roads are just a point of view'. The chosen route is not an issue - the advert shows mud, sand, water and tarmac - when you can rely on the top-in-class performance, ride comfort, off-road capabilities, infotainment features and safety systems which allowed the car to be awarded with five Euro NCAP stars.

The song 'Wasting My Young Years' by the British band London Grammar blends perfectly with the sound of the new 2.2 MultiJet II made in the Pratola Serra plant in Italy. Recently launched in several countries -Italy, Spain, the UK, Germany and France - the turbo diesel engine is gaining appreciation among customers and propelling Cherokee to the top of its category for performance, fuel efficiency and off-road capabilities.

Two power variants satisfy any need - 200 hp and 185 hp, both with 440 Nm of peak torque - in combination with the innovative automatic nine-speed transmission with 4x4 Jeep Active Drive I or 4x4 Jeep Active Drive II with low range, according to the versions. With respect to its predecessor, the new 2.2 MultiJet II 200 hp engine has 25% more torque and 17% more acceleration and power. CO2 emissions are reduced by 3%, now achieving 150 g/km.

The thrilling commercial dedicated to the Cherokee 2.2 MultiJet II is the best way to show the uniqueness of a model which is qualified for adventure wherever it may be and backed up by technology refined over 74 years of experience on the toughest terrains, but which is equally qualified to satisfy more demanding customers who prefer the most exclusive metropolitan destinations to adventure. As we said, 'Roads are just a point of view'.

The Jeep Cherokee range starts at £26,095 OTR for the 2.0 MultiJet II 140 hp Longitude FWD manual, rising to £37,995 for the 2.2 MultiJet II 200 hp Limited 4WD automatic.
