  • Judges enjoyed the ‘grin-inducing’ performance, impressive battery options and range, and competitive price of the New 500
  • New Fiat 500 priced from £19,995 OTR (inc. PiCG) with choice of range of up to 115 miles or 199 miles (WLTP)

The New Fiat 500 has picked up yet another accolade in the UK, being crowned Best EV City Car at the 2021 Fleet World Great British Fleet Awards.

Judges praised the car for its performance, impressive range and competitive price points, while the fully-electric powertrain and design enhancements also helped the New 500 secure its status as Best EV City Car.

The New Fiat 500 is the first fully-electric vehicle from the brand and provides a raft of best-in-class features such as Autonomous Driving (ADAS) technologies, a variety of battery options and a substantial driving range of up to 199 miles – the longest range of any electric city car on the market today.

To put the New 500 even further at the forefront of fleet customers’ minds, the car boasts 85kW fast charging, enabling the battery to reach 80 per cent range in just 35 minutes and, more impressively, 30 miles in around five minutes.

Additionally, a host of ADAS features are available including Drowsy Driver Detection, Autonomous Emergency Braking and Lane Keep Assist, helping to enhance the safety of drivers and pedestrians alike, while providing peace of mind to fleet managers. The New 500 is also the first car in its segment equipped with level 2 autonomy.

The awards are judged by an expert panel of Fleet World editors and honour excellence in fleet management, as well as the products and services which support operators running safer, greener, more cost-effective fleets.

Martyn Collins, editor, Fleet World said, "The original 500 was a stylish, fashionable and affordable way to get around town. The second-generation was just a light facelift of the first, but this third-generation car is a more radical update.

“Despite the similar looks, it is all-new and is now electric-powered. If fleets don’t buy the 500 for its looks, or grin-inducing drive, they will buy it for the keen range from a choice of battery options and all with competitive pricing.”

Iain Montgomery, fleet and business sales director, Fiat UK, said, “We are very excited to be launching the New 500 this year and are confident that the product range offers the perfect solution to any fleet. Winning a haul of awards even before the first UK customer deliveries have been made is testament to the hard work of our engineers and designers. Now we can’t wait for our customers to try it out for themselves.”
