FIAT PROFESSIONAL DONATES NEW TALENTO TO EX-FOOTBALLER’S CHARITY

Fiat Professional is preparing to kick-off 2017 supporting a worthwhile homeless charity after donating a new Fiat Talento van to the Geoff Horsfield Foundation.

The commercial vehicle division of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles UK has agreed to loan the new Talento LWB 120bhp 5dr 6-speed manual for the whole of next year to the charity, which was set up by former professional footballer Geoff Horsfield to help homeless people with mental health issues.

The ex-Fulham, Birmingham City and West Bromwich Albion striker took delivery of the specially sign-written Talento this week and will use the vehicle to help his charity as it renovates properties, assists in moving furniture and personal belongings, and provides on-going support for homeless and vulnerable people in the Birmingham area.

Fiat Professional and Geoff Horsfield have worked together before: in April this year Geoff and fellow ex-footballers Stuart Pearce and Dean Windass, helped Fiat Professional to launch the Tradesman Trials, a nationwide competition to find a professional footballer from a trade background.

The Geoff Horsfield Foundation has so far supported many young people move on to independent living and, with more than 30 referrals a month, it is already over-subscribed. Now, there are plans to expand from the Midlands and become nationwide.

"The dream is to develop the charity but we can only do that with the generous help of others," says Geoff Horsfield. "That's why I am over the moon that Fiat Professional has loaned me this fantastic Talento. It will be a very useful addition to the charity as we move into 2017, and it's a great gesture which I really appreciate."

"Following our work with Geoff during the Tradesman Trials, it was clear that he was passionate and dedicated to helping people in need, and we are delighted to be able to support him," says Andrea Patti, marketing manager, Fiat Professional UK.

"The new Talento offers space, versatility and the ability to adapt to different customer needs and is the perfect functional commercial vehicle companion to support Geoff and the Foundation. We wish him and his team the best of luck for 2017 and beyond."

Available with a choice of single turbo and twin turbo engines, and with four power outputs that meet Euro 6 emission standards - 1.6 Multijet 95 HP / 95 HP EcoJet Single Turbo; 1.6 Multijet 120 HP Single Turbo; 1.6 125 HP Twin Turbo; 1.6 145 HP Twin Turbo - the new Fiat Professional Talento is available from £205 per month (excluding VAT).
