Casablanca, March 10, 2025Stellantis the world’s fourth largest automaker and leading mobility solutions provider and CARE Maroc, an organization committed to social and educational development, announce the official launch of the Child Step project. This initiative aims to improve access to pre-school education and strengthen women's literacy in rural areas around the city of Kenitra.

Stellantis, committed to its societal impact and sustainable development, is thus partnering with CARE Maroc to provide a concrete response to the educational and social challenges of the territory. This partnership reflects the commitment of both organizations to building a more inclusive society, where every child can learn and thrive in an environment that is conducive to their development.

"Education is the first lever for social inclusion. With Child Step, we want to offer children solid prospects and support their families towards better socio-economic integration.Yves Peyrot des Gachons, Stellantis Maroc.

In a context where illiteracy affects a good number of adults at the national level and where many children are at risk of dropping out of school early, Child Step aims to offer quality preschool education to 300 children aged 3 to 6 from precarious families. The one-year project also includes a literacy programme for 50 mothers as well as awareness sessions for 150 parents, strengthening the role of education in children's development and family empowerment.

" With Child Step, we reaffirm our commitment to education on the one hand, and to the empowerment of women on the other. This project provides children with access to quality preschool education while giving mothers the tools to support their school career, thus contributing to the resilience of rural families and communities.Hlima Razkaoui, CARE Maroc.

Thanks to the involvement of educational teams and the support of local subject matter Experts, Child Step will promote school retention, equal opportunities and community engagement in the education of younger generations. The objective is clear: to ensure that 70% of the children entering this project complete their first year of primary school, with the active involvement of parents in their educational journey.

Beyond its immediate impact, the project aims to create a replicable educational model that can be extended to other marginalized urban and rural areas.

The official launch of the Child Step program marks a new step in the commitment of partners to the education and wellbeing of children in Morocco.
