The New PEUGEOT 4008, the SUV tailored to the Chinese market

Unveiled as a world premiere at the 19th edition of the Chengdu Motor Show, the PEUGEOT 4008, the brand's new SUV, has been specially designed for China, the globe's leading market, where four in ten vehicles currently sold are SUVs.

Based on the new, next-generation EMP2 car platform, the new PEUGEOT 4008 is the fourth SUV that PEUGEOT has launched this year worldwide. This follows the 2008, the new 3008 and the DONGFENG PEUGEOT 3008 middle life.

Record-breaking spaciousness

With an overall length of 4.51 m, the PEUGEOT 4008 offers measurements tailored to the Chinese market. Most notably, the vehicle is the one of roomiest in the Chinese market's C-SUV segment thanks to its 2.73 m wheelbase.

An electric panoramic sunroof ensures a bright interior, where the second-generation PEUGEOT i-Cockpit provides a breathtaking, technologically advanced environment for the vehicle's occupants. Its compact steering wheel, 8-inch capacitive touchscreen, and 12.3-inch head-up display instantly offer sensational driving pleasure. From behind the wheel, the driver is supported by new-generation driving assistance.

Boasting a long, broad bonnet, sharp body lines, a smartly vertical front face, LED headlamps, and claw-effect rear LED lights, the PEUGEOT 4008 asserts an elegant, sporty design that evokes the power and driving pleasure provided by its 1.6 L THP and 1.8 L THP engines.

Manufactured at the new DPCA plant in Chengdu, the PEUGEOT 4008 completes the DONGFENG PEUGEOT SUV range, which includes the 2008 and the redesigned 3008 revealed at the Beijing Motor Show in April 2016. The PEUGEOT 4008 will be released for sale in China from November 2016.

Over the first seven months of this year, around 4.4 million SUVs were sold in China, up more than 44 % compared to the same period in 2015 and now constituting 39 % of new car sales in China.
