PEUGEOT DANS LA COURSE : la nouvelle PEUGEOT 208 - l’excellence technologiquePEUGEOT IS IN THE RACE : the new PEUGEOT 208 - technological excellence

With global sales up by 5.4% and considerable above-market growth in China and Europe, it is a determined PEUGEOT that is introducing itself at the 85th International Geneva Motor Show in 2015. Featuring 2600m2 of unique design, this year's stand is dressed in the iconic clean black and copper lines introduced by the Onyx concept car. The PEUGEOT stand will host no less than 3 concept cars, the PEUGEOT 2008 DKR and 23 models including the new PEUGEOT 208 which will be unveiled in a world première. Only 3 years after its launch, the best-seller from the PEUGEOT range – with almost one million units sold – is getting a makeover and will be one of the major new PEUGEOT attractions. In Geneva, PEUGEOT is also continuing with its strategy for moving upmarket via 3 exhibition areas: - The GT Line area, Peugeot's take on personality and dynamism via a new cross-model finish for the PEUGEOT 208, 308, 508 and RCZ; - The Sport area, focused on performance and featuring the PEUGEOT 308 & 308 SW GT, RCZ R and 208 GTi by PEUGEOT Sport – bringing its exceptional competition experience to the standard cars – and the impressive PEUGEOT 2008 DKR which has just got back from Dakar; - The Technologies area, bringing together all of the brand's technological expertise with the new EAT6 automatic gearbox and the Euro 6 PureTech, BlueHDi and THP engine powers which, with 20 Best in class engines, make PEUGEOT the benchmark for efficiency and CO2 emissions reduction.

THE NEW PEUGEOT 208: THE 208, BUT BETTER!

Three years after it was launched right here in Geneva, the new 208, which will be marketed from June 2015, is showcasing new ambitions via its updated exterior and interior style and, above all, more choice with new Euro 6 engine powers and unprecedented features.

A more energetic design

The exterior style becomes sleeker thanks to:

o a larger grille and a chrome trim built in to the bumper;

o new black and chrome two-tone lights with a new LED light signature;

o new painted, diamond-effect or laser-engraved wheels;

o new LED 'claw effect' rear lights.

The interior features the i-Cockpit driving station with its compact steering wheel, heads-up instrument panel, and its large 7" touchscreen, has been updated. Among the major changes are the arrival of:

o a soft-touch dashboard insert with a visual design;

o white backlighting for the instrument panel and controls;

o blue LED light guides for versions equipped with a panoramic roof;

o MirrorScreen, allowing you to duplicate a smartphone on the 7" touchscreen.

A range which offers more choice

With an already wide choice, the colour palette offered by the new PEUGEOT 208 has gained a new vibrant shade which will also feature as its launch colour: Orange Power.

Because no two customers are the same, exterior customisation packs from the grille to the door mirror covers will be accessible from level 2.

Already adopted by the PEUGEOT 308, 508 and RCZ, the new 208 range is also decked in the new GT Line finish. With 3 or 5 doors, and PureTech petrol or Diesel BlueHDi engines, the 208 GT Line borrows the sporty look of the GTi: for example, the exterior features the Equalizer grille, larger 17 inch wheels, and the black door mirror covers, and the inside, with its sport seats and steering wheel as well as the aluminium pedal unit, invites more dynamic driving.

A worthy heir of the PEUGEOT 205 GTi, which had its 30th anniversary commemorated with the 208 GTi 30th edition, 208 GTi by PEUGEOT Sport is making its appearance in the range: with 208 horsepower under the bonnet, Torsen® limited slip differential, large 330mm brake discs and an optional clean cut style, it is asserting itself as the most radical of the 208 range!

New high-tech features

To reduce the risks and severity of collisions in urban environments, the PEUGEOT 208 uses the new Active City Brake feature which is triggered below 30kph. Thanks to a sensor on the top of the windscreen, this safety feature – particularly useful in the city – automatically applies the brakes, bringing the vehicle to a complete stop if necessary.

Another new feature is the rear view camera, available as an optional extra from level 2 to make reversing easier.

The MirrorScreen feature, which first appeared in the 108, is also present in the 208. It allows you to duplicate your smartphone screen onto the vehicle's 7" touchscreen for better visual comfort when accessing phone, music, navigation apps and more.

New Euro 6 engines and EAT6 gearbox

The new 208 range is defined of course by its style and new features but also 4 new engines developed by the PSA PEUGEOT CITROËN group and a new EAT6 automatic gearbox.

On the BlueHDi diesel engine side, things not to miss:

- the appearance of 3 new engine powers: 1.6L BlueHDi 75, 100 and 120;

- all versions have emissions below 95g/km of CO2;

- the 1.6L BlueHDi 75 and 100 consume 3l/100km with emissions of 79g/km of CO2, making the PEUGEOT 208 the world leader in internal combustion vehicles in terms of CO2 emissions.

The PureTech petrol range includes 3 engine powers:

- 2 previously existing engines with the 1.0L PureTech 68 and 1.2L PureTech 82;

- 1 new engine, the 1.2L PureTech 110 S&S with remarkably low emissions of 103g/km of CO2.

A major innovation for 2015, the new EAT6 automatic gearbox helps to improve the range's efficiency:

- Quickshift technology – smoother and quicker;

- Only 1g/km increase in CO2 compared to the manual gearbox;

- 104g/km of CO2 for the 1.2L PureTech 110 S&S EAT6 version, or a reduction of -30% compared to the 1.6L VTi 120 automatic version.

ENGINE POWER: TECHNOLOGICAL EXCELLENCE FOR PERFORMANCE AND EFFICIENCY

Begun in 2014, the roll-out of Euro 6 engines continues in 2015 in petrol and diesel versions with 20 Best in class engines in their performance category. Some of the most impressive facts include:

- The Peugeot carbon footprint is now less than 110g of CO2 per km;

- Thanks to Peugeot's performance in 2014, the PSA PEUGEOT CITROËN group has reclaimed its place as the European leader with an average of 110.3g/km of CO2 (CAFE);

- Of the CAFE leaders, it is PEUGEOT which has made the most significant reductions in its emissions with a -4.6% reduction between 2013/2014 and -27% over the last 10 years.

PureTech petrol range

In 2014, due in particular to the arrival of PureTech engines which helped to improve the sales mix worldwide, 53% of the vehicles sold by PEUGEOT were petrol and 47% were diesel. The PureTech range, which is in the running for Engine of the Year, enjoys a complete and efficient offering:

- Fully Euro 6 range from 95g/km of CO2;

- 5 Best in class versions among the 208, 2008, 308 and 3008 ranges.

THP petrol range

Voted engine of the year 8 times running, the 1.6L THP 200 engine was joined in 2014 by the 1.6L THP 270, which reaches almost 170 hp/l. The THP range demonstrates PEUGEOT's technological expertise which continually improves performance while reducing emissions and consumption:

- Fully Euro 6 range from 125g/km of CO2;

- 3 Best in class versions with the PEUGEOT 208 GTi (208 hp), 308GT (205 hp) and RCZ R (270 hp)

BlueHDi diesel range

BlueHDI is the family of combustion engines which provide the most efficient depollution technology currently on the market thanks to the exclusive combination of SCR and additive-enhanced FAP:

- Fully Euro 6 range from 79g/km of CO2 (world record);

- 12 Best in class versions among the 208, 308, 3008, 2008, 508 and Partner ranges.

THE PEUGEOT 108: EVEN MORE ZEST

Launched in summer 2014, the city-dweller with the sleek and chic design made around 40% of its sales in levels 3 and 4 (Allure and Féline), and the cabriolet TOP! makes up around one 108 out of five.

To build on this success, all engine powers meet the Euro 6 standard and the 108 range is growing with the arrival of the special Roland Garros edition. The two-tone version is now available in 3- and 5-door models and six colour combinations.

The MirrorScreen feature receives a software update in version 1.1 increasing the number of compatible phones and adding a navigation app which works offline for situations when no data connection is available.

From May, an option bringing together lane departure warning system and automatic city braking will appear in the catalogue.

CONNECTIVITY: A GROWING RANGE

The PEUGEOT Monitoring, Mapping and Tracking Connect packs will be on the market before summer 2015. The services on offer include the ability to access a virtual maintenance manual with the Monitoring pack, geolocate your vehicle in case of theft with the Tracking pack or remotely monitor usage if you have lent your car to your children, for example, with the Mapping pack.

MirrorScreen, another new feature, is now available for the PEUGEOT 108 and 208 ranges (see page 3). It allows you to duplicate your smartphone screen onto the vehicle's 7" touchscreen for better visual comfort when accessing phone, music, navigation apps and more.

Also available as an optional extra via a 3G key connected to the touchscreen in the PEUGEOT 208, 2008, 308 and 508, PEUGEOT Connect Apps offer a package of 18 connected services to make the daily lives of drivers and passengers easier by pointing out parking places, the closest fuel station, the best restaurants, and more.

WHEN PEUGEOT MAKES DREAMS

With its completely renewed '8' range, in Geneva PEUGEOT is introducing the youngest range in its history, with an average age of just 3 years. By moving more quickly than the market, PEUGEOT is back in the international limelight with the aim of inspiring dreams. The 700,000 visitors expected at the show will be able to step into the brand's future via the 3 concept cars on display, consider an alternative urban mobility solution in the form of 2- and 3-wheeled scooters, discover PEUGEOT's connected services, or simply relax and enjoy PEUGEOT Music.

3 concepts, 1 brand vision

With Onyx, PEUGEOT has introduced its exclusive concept car with clean lines daringly bringing together black and copper, and inspired a radical version of the 208 GTi by PEUGEOT Sport, which is marketed to retail customers for the first time. In Geneva, Onyx is going further – this time, the entire PEUGEOT stand is displaying the principle of clean lines with a whole wall made of real copper.

By its side, the athletic PEUGEOT Exalt is a distilled vision of the saloon in physical form, with its petrol plug-in HYbrid4 drive chain providing up to 340hp, and innovative materials like its bare steel bodywork.

The PEUGEOT Quartz is PEUGEOT's vision of a top-of-the-range SUV: its sporty, robust and powerful style lends it a visual force fitting for its full-hybrid plug-in 500hp petrol drive chain.

Motor sport as a technological laboratory

In the SUV and crossover fields, the PEUGEOT 2008 DKR, with its impressive build, is the ultimate expression of motor sport. Only just back from South America, it bears the scars of 10,000 km of racing in the most formidable and most challenging of motor events, the Dakar Rally. It is the symbol of the Lion brand's return, ready to come out fighting during the next rally in 2016.

With 2- and 3-wheeled models, a range which is unique in the world

A motorcycle pioneer in 1898, in Geneva PEUGEOT is exhibiting 3 scooters with a premium focus: Speedfight 4, the new sleek and sporty 50cc scooter. Django 50, 125 & 150 revisit the past with a style fresh from the 1950s and a unique customisation configurator. And finally, the Peugeot Metropolis 400 is asserting itself as the most high-tech 3-wheel scooter on the market, the first scooter to offer, as part of the D-Air by Dainese special edition, the quickest and most efficient wireless airbag jacket on the market.

Recharge your batteries with Peugeot Music

Need a break? At its stand, PEUGEOT has included 2 benches where visitors to the stand can rest, recharge their smartphone via USB sockets and relax to the musical experience provided by the PEUGEOT Music artists.
