PEUGEOT Cycles partner of La Plagne

PEUGEOT Cycles and La Plagne are bringing a new dimension to their partnership with the launch of "Super Huit". Open to the general public, the event aims to become a milestone in the "All Mountain" calendar. PEUGEOT Cycles Team rider Morgane Jonnier (Top 5 in the Italian round of the 2020 World Cup) and Vincent Ancelin, Team Manager, shared their expertise with the three other competitors in the "Super 8 pool" to create the ideal route for electric mountain biking. Designed for maximum rider enjoyment, it alternates between technical and enjoyable climbs, fun descents and quieter sections, to relieve the riders and preserve their e-MTB batteries.
La Plagne and PEUGEOT Cycles joined forces at the end of 2019 to strengthen their brand and promote the practice of electric mountain biking and mountain biking in the resort during the summer season. PEUGEOT Cycles has provided around twenty bikes from the "eM (electric Mountain)" range for the "bike patrols", who prepare the tracks and supervise the mountain bikers, as well as the resort's activity leaders. PEUGEOT Cycles is also represented on banners at the edge of the track, on the resort's website, as well as in partner shops.

The "Super Huit" event in detail

The first edition of the "Super Huit" will be held from 8 to 11 July 2021 and will include two events. Registration will open in November 2020.
The flagship race, the dazzlingly named "Grand8", will be reserved for 50 experts and "elite" riders of electric-assisted mountain bikes on 8 and 9 July. It will take the form of a two-day tour of La Plagne with one night in a bivouac. Riders will enjoy more than 5,800 metres of descent, from the peaks to mountain pastures and woodland. No less than 105 kilometres over a total ascent of 5,900 metres await the competitors.
The "Double8", to be held on 10 and 11 July, will be the ideal race for electric mountain bike and mountain bike fans. They will ride over a series of four cloverleaf-shaped loops through forests and high mountain landscapes. Participants will be able to start on a new circuit Using the "stop or go" principle. They will have covered 82 kilometres for a total of 3,688 metres ascent over the 4 loops.
