2018 Paris Motor Show : PEUGEOT Showcases Three World Premières
PEUGEOT is presenting three world premières in Paris this year. Alongside the new PEUGEOT 508 SW, the general public will discover the fully electric, autonomous PEUGEOT e-LEGEND Concept for the first time, the veritable incarnation of an optimistic and ultra-desirable future. PEUGEOT is also unveiling its new Hybrid Plug-in petrol engines. PEUGEOT is approaching this energy transition calmly and with one conviction - providing technologies to improve driving pleasure.
NEW PEUGEOT 508 SW - a Daring Estate Car
PEUGEOT is unveiling the SW version of the new PEUGEOT 508 a few days ahead of the trade launch of the saloon. The new PEUGEOT 508 SW is breaking the codes of the hotly contested D-segment estate market and draws its inspirations from shooting brakes. Sitting low and with a dynamic shape, the new PEUGEOT 508 SW cuts a striking design. It has successfully allied athletic elegance with practicality in its spaciousness, volumes and the accessibility of the boot space. Very much imbibed with the brand’s DNA, the new PEUGEOT 508 SW’s excellent steering and suspension combine remarkable road hugging performance with a perfectly mastered body movements. It is equipped with the latest generation of PEUGEOT i-Cockpit®. Its efficiency, safety and high-end comfort-focused design is the promise of intense driving sensations.
PEUGEOT e-LEGEND CONCEPT - #UnboringTheFuture
PEUGEOT is presenting an exciting vision of the future of driving pleasure through this latest concept car, which is a desirable and emblematic vehicle. By adopting a realistic frame (4.65 m in length), this is a projection into the future of the automobile that draws on the PEUGEOT brand’s in-built elegance.
PEUGEOT e-LEGEND CONCEPT is the technological manifesto of PEUGEOT’s vision of a fully electric, customisable, connected, autonomous vehicle.
Its style re-interprets the major themes of the 504 Coupé with a lightweight, athletic, chiselled and sensual shape. The cab is arched towards the back, enjoying broad glazed surfaces. The front and rear signature lights repeat the three, trade-mark claws.
There are four driving modes available - two autonomous and two manual - with the choice always left up to the driver.
Immersion inside the passenger compartment is total, thanks to the FOCAL® acoustics and the 49” digital screen curved towards the occupants, who can watch films, media content or even a shot of the road, depending on the driving mode selected.
The materials used are warm, blending velvet and wood to offset the frenzied rush towards a digital future.
NEW PEUGEOT HYBRID PLUG-IN ENGINES
PEUGEOT is also unveiling its new Plug-in Hybrid petrol engines in Paris. This new range will complement the existing PEUGEOT 3008 and new PEUGEOT 508 and 508 SW engines. The HYBRID and HYBRID4 (four-wheel drive) will also be in arriving on the new PEUGEOT 508 and PEUGEOT 3008 in Autumn 2019.
The PEUGEOT driving experience is being enriched with new driving modes both for pleasure and revived sensations thanks to the fully electric ZEV mode's magic effect, the efficiency of the four-wheel drive mode (HYBRID4), the power of the Sport mode and the versatility of the Hybrid mode.
The simple and intuitive technology provides absolute freedom; the freedom of use with a vehicle that is suitable for road-based, urban or outdoor routes. The freedom to choose, with two or four-wheel drive, 225 or 300 Hp, saloon, SW or SUV. The freedom to use the four driving modes.
These two new engines are a clear illustration of PEUGEOT’s vision of unrestricted, exciting and ever-more efficient driving.
