FIRST PLACE FOR DS E-TENSE CHANTILLY IN ARTS & ÉLÉGANCE RICHARD MILLE EVENT

Yesterday, a panel of some of the motoring world’s most uncompromising experts gave first place to DS E-TENSE in the Chantilly Arts & Élégance Richard Mille event, ahead of seven other truly exceptional cars. The prize brings further recognition for the inimitable avant-garde spirit of DS, backed by the sublime elegance of the work of French fashion designer Eymeric François.

FIRST PLACE FOR DS E-TENSE CHANTILLY IN ARTS & ÉLÉGANCE RICHARD MILLE EVENT

The Chantilly Arts & Élégance Richard Mille event has become an exceptional fixture in the world automotive events calendar. This year’s meeting took place on 4 September at the prestigious Domaine de Chantilly venue.

The day’s schedule included a concours d’élégance standoff between eight concept cars from some of the world’s most esteemed premium automakers, each accompanied by a model wearing outfits by a leading fashion designer. The winning duo was selected by a demanding and knowledgeable jury of experts including drivers, mechanics, journalists, designers and painters, often collectors themselves and all fervent enthusiasts of the best in automotive design. All the cars came under the closest scrutiny, for exterior design, interior styling, technological innovation, and coherence between car style and fashion.

To quote DS chief Yves Bonnefont, “As an enthusiastic participant in this exceptional event from the outset, DS is understandably proud DS to finish first in the Concours d’Élégance with DS E-TENSE. The prize confirms the avant-garde spirit that drives the all-pervasive DS endeavour to champion French prestige know-how in automotive design. DS E-TENSE brings tangible proof of the work we do and offers specific pointers to the way the DS brand will be heading in the years to come.”

This prize also pays tribute to the creativity of French fashion designer Eymeric François, who presented a magnificent silk velvet outfit with no less than eight metres of hand-stitched leather laces, an item from the Femmes & Fatales fashion collection that typifies the Eymeric François hallmarks of elegance and sensuality, offering a characteristically French take on the golden age of Hollywood, and making each wearer a legend in her own right.

On 16 September, Eymeric François will be in residence at DS WORLD PARIS for an in-depth spotlight on French fashion creativity.
