DS TECHEETAH finished in the Teams Championship’ top-3 of the 2021 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, which wrapped up today in Berlin. This has been the most competitive season in the history of the series and attempting to retain the double crown for a third consecutive year was a huge challenge. Still, the team and its two drivers, António Félix Da Costa and Jean-Éric Vergne, fought at the front for the entire season, keeping their title chances alive until the very last race. Eventually, DS TECHEETAH finished on the third step of the Teams’ podium, with Da Costa and Vergne finishing 8th and 10th, respectively in the Drivers’ standings.

It has been written in the books: the fight for the first ABB FIA Formula E World Champions titles will go down to the wire, up to the last lap of the last race of the season, to be held tomorrow. As anticipated, Round 14 was not decisive and only some of the title contenders were ‘skimmed’ from the list of candidates today. DS TECHEETAH, thanks to a very solid race which yielded valuable points, will go into the final battle having reduced significantly the gap in the standings.

Each day is different in the exciting world of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, and now it will be decided in the final double-header in Berlin.

The 12th round of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship was held today in London and proved that the Championship is still wide open and it is becoming clear that the title battle will go down to the wire. The race, the first ever held on the 2.25 km London ExCel circuit, yielded the ninth different race winner in 12 races. It wasn’t an easy Saturday for DS TECHEETAH, but by finishing 8th, António Félix Da Costa managed to put DS TECHEETAH back at the top of the Teams’ rankings, currently leading by 2 in points over Envision Virgin Racing.

The second race of the New York E-Prix was more lively and closely-fought than yesterday’s first race and saw a great performance by reigning champion António Félix Da Costa, who took a brilliant 3rd place at the end of an exciting battle. Unfortunately, Jean-Éric Vergne was hit by adversity in qualifying and on the grid itself.

The first race of the New York City E-Prix completely reshuffled the positions at the top of the standings in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. By taking a superb second place, Jean-Éric Vergne climbed back into third in the Drivers’ standings, only 4 points behind the leader. More importantly, the points scored brought DS TECHEETAH in to the lead of the Teams’ standings, 4 points ahead of its closest rival.

The second E-Prix of the weekend in Puebla, Mexico yielded more points for DS TECHEETAH. Today, it was Jean-Éric Vergne finishing in the top-10, as he crossed the line in P8 at the wheel of his DS E-TENSE FE21 after a race always in the leading group. The 2.982-long track surrounded by volcanoes in Central Mexico was again the scenery of close racing and fierce battles. António Félix Da Costa retired six laps from the end.

António Félix Da Costa finished sixth in the eighth round of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, acquiring valuable points for DS TECHEETAH and himself, in the series first visit to Puebla. The 2.982-long permanent track in the heart of Mexico is at an altitude of 2100 meters, which proved challenging for cars and drivers. Unfortunately, Jean-Éric Vergne was among the victims of the numerous race incidents. The Frenchman retired on lap 12 after being squeezed against the wall by a rival at the exit of the attack mode zone when he was in 4th position.

DS TECHEETAH continues to reign in the Principality of Monaco. After winning its first Monaco E-Prix together as a team in 2019 with Jean-Eric Vergne, DS TECHEETAH has held on to the winner’s trophy at the bi-annual E-Prix through Antonio Felix da Costa’s win today.

The second E-Prix of the Rome double-header yielded similar conditions and another intense race but with different results from yesterday, leaving tighter gaps in the overall standings of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.

There couldn’t have been a better debut for the new DS E-TENSE FE21, as Jean-Éric Vergne took it to the highest step of the podium in its first-ever race in Rome today.

Following a start of the season rich in emotions for DS Automobiles and its partner TECHEETAH, the second E-Prix of the 2021 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship will take place in Rome, Italy on 10th and 11th April. At this round, DS Automobiles will launch the DS E-TENSE FE21, the single-seater that will take the baton from the reigning champion DS E-TENSE FE20.

DS TECHEETAH and António Félix Da Costa claimed its first podium of the season during the second night race in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia, tonight.

It was a sweet-and-sour start of Season Seven for DS Automobiles and TECHEETAH in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia, a race that will go down in the history of Formula E as the first one to run under the FIA World Championship status and the first-ever night race of the series. The reigning champions, despite an impressive charge in the final laps, narrowly missed the points with António Félix Da Costa finishing 11th and Jean-Éric Vergne 15th.

The first two rounds of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship will take place in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia, on 26 and 27 February 2021. The fully electric competition inaugurates a new status and the double-reigning champions, DS Automobiles and its partner TECHEETAH, are ready to defend its back-to-back driver and team championship titles.
