CITROËN CELEBRATES ITS CENTENARY IN STYLE AT GOODWOOD FESTIVAL OF SPEED 2019

Citroën is set to continue its centenary celebrations in style at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed. The Citroën stand will link the past, present and the future – headlining with the UK premiere of Ami One and 19_19 Concepts, representing the brand’s vision of future mobility. Meanwhile, the Citroën Total World Rally Team will run a C3 WRC on the Forest Rally Stage and up the Goodwood Hill. Linda Jackson, Citroën’s Global CEO, will attend over the weekend, as will Arnaud Belloni, Citroën Global Marketing and Communications Director, Pierre Leclercq, Citroën Design Director, and Xavier Peugeot, Citroën Product Director.

CITROËN CELEBRATES ITS CENTENARY IN STYLE AT GOODWOOD FESTIVAL OF SPEED 2019

“In this year of Citroën's Centenary, participating in the Goodwood Festival of Speed is an absolute must. Both unique and popular, this festival perfectly echoes Citroën's DNA. We are therefore very proud to be part of it to celebrate 100 years of audacity and creativity, with the exhibition of models from yesterday to today, up to our latest concept cars, including of course the C3 WRC.”

Linda Jackson, Citroën Global CEO

Citroën will continue its centenary celebrations in characteristic style at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed. The Citroën stand will naturally showcase the brand’s rich heritage, but it will also reference current models – such as the flagship New C5 Aircross SUV – and Citroën’s vision for the future with Ami One Concept and 19_19 Concept both making their UK premieres together at Goodwood.

Ami One Concept was presented for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year. It is a truly distinctive and contemporary object and a manifesto for future urban electric mobility. 19_19 Concept made its world debut more recently, at the VivaTech Expo in Paris. It represents Citroën’s future vision of ultra-comfort and extended mobility to escape the city and 100% electric.

The theme of the 2019 Festival of Speed is ‘Speed Kings – Motorsport’s Record Breakers’, embodying the most pivotal moments from motorsport’s most famous drivers and manufacturers. Citroën Racing will be attending the event once again with the hugely impressive C3 WRC in action across all four days. Spectators will be able to experience the thrill of C3 WRC up close and personal as Sébastien Ogier, Esapekka Lappi and Mads Østberg take part in a variety of activities throughout the event.

Mads Østberg will be driving on Thursday 4 and Friday 5 July; Esapekka Lappi on Saturday 6 July; Sébastien Ogier will attend on Sunday 7 July.

On Thursday 4 July, Citroën will present three of its most recognisable models on the Goodwood Hill: Traction Avant (the first mass-produced front-wheel drive car); 2 CV (the car that brought freedom and mobility to so many people in the 1950’s, 60’s and 70’s); and the recently launched New Citroën C5 Aircross SUV (the flagship model of the current range).

Citroën’s Global CEO, Linda Jackson, will be available for interview on the brand’s main show stand. The following executives will also be present and available for interviews: Arnaud Belloni, Citroën Global Marketing and Communications Director, Pierre Leclercq, Citroën Design Director, and Xavier Peugeot, Citroën Product Director.

Please direct all interview requests to Simon Broome via simon.broome@citroen.com.

Goodwood Festival of Speed is the biggest motoring event in the UK and a highlight on the global automotive calendar. Citroën was part of the event when it began in 1993, so the brand is pleased to make the 2019 festival part of its centenary programme. In one of Citroën’s most important years to date, Goodwood Festival of Speed 2019 is set to be very special for the brand, its customers and fans, and the attending management team.
