  • In Germany, the final round of the FIA ADAC F4 Championship powered by Abarth, to decide the 2020 title contested by two young drivers from the Van Amersfoort Racing team, Edgar (GBR) and Crawford (USA)
  • In Hungary, the fourth round of the FIA ERC European Rally Championship takes place, with four teams in the running for the Abarth Rally Cup

A double challenge on the track and in rallies for the Abarth drivers, competing this weekend on the track at the Oschersleben circuit, in the final, pivotal race to decide the title in the FIA ADAC F4 Championship powered by Abarth; and at Rally Hungary, the fourth round of the FIA ERC European Rally Championship, with the Abarth 124 rally.

In Germany, the Oschersleben circuit will host the final round of the FIA ADAC F4 Championship powered by Abarth.  The three races will decide who wins the title, between two drivers from the Van Amersfoort Racing team: the Briton Jonny Edgar or the American Jack Crawford, 23 points behind him. Finland’s Elias Seppänen is also in the running for the title.

The three races will be held on Saturday, November 7th at 12:00 pm, and on Sunday 8th at 12:00 pm and 4:00 pm. Live streaming on www.adac-motorsport.de.

At the same time, Rally Hungary will see four crews on the starting line in an Abarth 124 rally, in the fourth round of the 2020 Abarth Rally Cup. After the first three rounds, the young Italian Andrea Mabellini is in the lead with Nicolò Gonella (Napoca Rally Team), courtesy of two wins at the Rally di Roma Capitale and the Rally Fafe Montelongo in Portugal. In second place is another Italian, Roberto Gobbin with Alessandro Cervi (Winners Rally Team), who took two second placings in the same two races, ahead of the Czech driver Martin Rada with Jaroslav Jugas (Agrotec Team), the winners of the Rally Liepāja in Latvia. Last year, Rada won the Hungarian heat of the Abarth Rally Cup.

Battling for the title in addition to these three drivers is the Romanian Mihnea Mureșan, making his international debut, together with Alina Pop, Andrea Nucita’s navigator twice before in the Abarth Rally Cup. The team will be racing in the Abarth 124 rally, fine-tuned by Team Bernini Rally.
The Rally Hungary is especially difficult for its tarmac route winding along the narrow roads of the Hungarian countryside, with many tricky wet stretches in the woods, made even more challenging by the autumnal weather conditions. The 2019 edition was hit by rain.

The departure from Nyíregyháza is scheduled for 6:00 pm on Friday, November 6th and a short special stage will be run at 7:00 pm. The first stage takes place on Saturday, starting at 8:15 am and finishing at 7:14 pm; the second race will be on Sunday, from 7:20 am to 4:30 pm. The route measures a total of 956 km, of which 191 km are time trials, spread over 16 special stages.

Current standings in the Abarth Rally Cup: 1. Andrea Mabellini (ITA, Napoca Rally Team), 60; 2. Roberto Gobbin (ITA, Winners Rally Team), 48; 3. Martin Rada (CZE, Agrotec Team), 30.

Current standings in the FIA ADAC F4 Championship powered by Abarth: 1. Jonny Edgar (GBR, Van Amersfoort Racing), 264; 2. Jak Crawford (USA, Van Amersfoort Racing), 241; 3. Elias Seppänen (FIN, US Racing), 217.
