A day filled with off-road fun and thrills took place today at the Balocco Proving Ground - the test circuit for Fiat Chrysler Automobiles brand vehicles: the Italian champions together with their coach tested the legendary 4x4 performance of Jeep models on the special off-road circuit. A fleet of 10 vehicles, from the legendary iconic Wrangler, to the new generation Medium SUV Cherokee which was only recently launched on the Italian and European market, and also the flagship Grand Cherokee (which embodies the values of freedom, authenticity, adventure and passion to the full and has been the brand's reference point in terms of power, comfort, innovation and build quality) enabled the Italian Championship winners to spend an unforgettable day of fun and spirit of adventure, which distinguish the lifestyle of Jeep motorists.

The cars which the Juventus champions tested are the new generation Medium SUV Jeep Cherokee in the Trailhawk version, which is the most specialised for off-road use and fitted with a 3.2 petrol engine with 272 HP teamed with the new nine-speed automatic transmission. Its exterior also stands out thanks to features which suggest the high specific off-road capacity of this version, including special bumpers and tyres and increased height from the ground. Specifics of the Trailhawk version Jeep Cherokee also include the Jeep® Active Drive Lock system with two-speed PTU, torque management, low-range gears, Selec-Speed Control and rear differential locking to ensure greater power when driving in lower gears in extreme off-road conditions.

The footballers also tested the legendary off-road capacity of the iconic Jeep Wrangler, in the Rubicon version - namely the most extreme and skilled in off-road driving conditions of the Wrangler range. Equipped with front and rear Dana 44 axles, the unstoppable Jeep Wrangler Rubicon boasts exceptional off-road performance levels thanks to the part-time four-wheel drive system with Rock-Trac reduction unit - exclusive for this version - distinguished by the exceptional reduction ratio of 4.0:1, the electronic locking of the front and rear differentials and the disconnection system of the front anti-roll bar - Active Sway Bar System - to overcome extreme off-road obstacles.

Last but by no means least, the range tested on the Balocco track would not have been complete without the top-of-the-range Grand Cherokee, equipped with the efficient 3.0-litre V6 turbodiesel engine with electronic Common Rail direct injection featuring MultiJet II technology, 250 HP of power and a torque of 570 Nm and Quadra-Trac II and Quadra-Drive all-wheel drive systems with rear self-locking ELSD (Electronic Limited-slip Differential). Both systems are designed to tackle the most challenging off-road routes in utmost safety thanks to the excellent low gear ratio of 2.72:1.

Beside the Juventus team, in its capacity as Official Sponsor for the second season running, the Jeep brand, like the Juventus club - set to play the last match in the championship this Sunday and celebrate its third championship cup in a row - demonstrated its determination to achieve goals and earn record-breaking results. Indeed, last year the American brand gained another victory, reaching the absolute world-wide record of over 730,000 units sold for the second year running and showing an uninterrupted four-year growth trend both world-wide as well as on the domestic U.S. market.

The Jeep brand and Juventus are two icons of their respective worlds; both have a history of authenticity, passion and the ability to take on and succeed in every challenge in their DNA.

Indeed, Jeep boasts world-wide fame with more than 15 million cars having been produced and sold around the globe since its first appearance in 1941. Juventus has a similarly glorious past: founded in 1897, it can boast more than two hundred and fifty million fans worldwide (11 million in Italy alone) and an enviable record which includes 32 championship cups, 9 Coppe Italia cups, 5 Supercoppe Italiane cups, 3 UEFA Cups, 1 Coppa delle Coppe cup, 2 European Super Cups, 2 Champions Leagues Cups and 2 Intercontinental Cups.

Sold across Italy and the major European markets since April, the new generation Cherokee is a totally new car able to offer customers a modern interpretation of the slogan "Go anywhere, do anything" which has always marked the legendary US brand, and offers three trim levels: Longitude, Limited and Trailhawk equipped with the new 2.0-litre MultiJet II turbodiesel and the 3.2-litre Pentastar petrol engines. The efficient 2.0-litre turbodiesel will be available in the 140 and 170 HP versions, both with a max torque of 350 Nm. The 170 HP version of the 2.0-litre engine can be teamed with the new nine-speed automatic transmission, a feature which the new Jeep Cherokee is the first to introduce in its category, while the 140 HP version is teamed with a six-gear manual gearbox. Stop/Start technology for reduced fuel consumption and CO2 emissions is standard on both versions of the 2.0-litre turbodiesel. The 3.2-litre V6 Pentastar with 272 HP and 315 Nm torque is only available teamed with the new nine-speed automatic transmission.

Introduced to the European market in mid-2013, the Jeep Grand Cherokee MY 2014 is marketed in the Laredo, Limited, Overland and SRT versions, and in the top of the range trim level Summit. Every Jeep Grand Cherokee range trim level features a premium and distinguished look, just as the interiors stand out in terms of technological content and quality of the finishes.

Four engine versions are available, all teamed with the nine-speed automatic transmission: next to the outstanding 3.0-litre turbodiesel V6 CRD MultiJet II with 190 and 250 HP, the range includes the 3.6-litre petrol V6 Pentastar, 5.7-litre V8 - available exclusively on the Summit version - and 6.4-litre V8 HEMI engines, the latter only on the high-performance SRT version.

A brand icon, the Jeep Wrangler has been and remains the most famous model in the Jeep range worldwide: with its unmistakable personality, the car has always been able to ensure its customers a unique degree of freedom thanks to its ability to master the most extreme off-road terrain in utmost safety. With a wheelbase increased by 52 cm and a larger passenger compartment that can comfortably accommodate five passengers, the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited is a development of the Jeep Wrangler. The Jeep Wrangler Unlimited combines the exceptional off-road capabilities of Jeep with the comfort and versatility of an everyday car turning the off-road master into a four-door 4x4 convertible.

The Jeep Wrangler is available in the Sport, Sahara and Rubicon trim levels, equipped with the brilliant 2.8-litre turbodiesel Common-Rail 200 HP engine with Stop/Start technology. The four-door version of the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited has two trim levels (Sahara and Rubicon) powered by the 2.8-litre Common-Rail turbodiesel engine. The 3.6-litre V6 petrol engine is available exclusively on the Sahara version with automatic transmission of the Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Wrangler Unlimited.
