Citroën Indonesia Announces Local Production of Ë-C3 at GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show 2024

Citroën announces it will begin local Complete Knock Down (CKD) production of the Citroën Ë-C3 in Indonesia at a domestic production facility Citroën Indonesia is the first and sole automotive distributor to be granted the approval for Electric Motor Vehicle Program with CBU import facilities. The approval grants Citroën Indonesia special import privileges of EV vehicles with 0% import duty and sales tax exemption (PPnBM), which will be government borne until local production begins in 2026

[Tangerang, 17 July 2024] In a significant move towards strengthening its presence in Indonesia, Citroën Indonesia, through PT Indomobil Distributor, the brand’s official distributor in Indonesia, announced the Citroën Ë-C3 will be produced locally  at a domestic production facility.

The Indonesian government recently offered Citroën Indonesia official approval for the Electric Motor Vehicle Program with CBU Import Facilities. This approval grants Citroën Indonesia special import privileges of EV vehicles with 0% import duty and sales tax exemption (PPnBM), which will be government borne until local production begins in 2026.

During the Press Day at the GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2024, Tan Kim Piauw, CEO of PT Indomobil National Distributor – APM Citroën Indonesia, said, "The Citroën Ë-C3 local production in Indonesia is proof of Citroën's long-term commitment to working on the automotive market in Indonesia and is Citroën's contribution in supporting the Indonesian government's program for emission-free mobility towards the era of electrification in Indonesia.

Citroën Indonesia is cementing its local presence by investing Rp 380 billion in a new production facility This commitment to the Indonesian market emphasizes using local labor and sourcing components domestically to achieve the 40% TKDN (Domestic Component Level) requirement.

Tan Kim Piauw added, "The electric car ecosystem in Indonesia is now adequate, making it increasingly easier for consumers to carry out activities with electric cars and creating a healthier and carbon-free environment. ‘’

The Citroën Ë-C3 delivers a unique blend of eco-friendly and Citroën-style comfort known as Citroën Advanced Comfort®. Designed with the young progressive Indonesians in mind, the Ë-C3 embodies Citroën’s commitment to support the Indonesian government’s net zero carbon strategy through electrification.

Driven by its “Dare to Care” tagline, Citroën vehicles just like the Ë-C3 are known for their unique suspension, which absorbs imperfections in the road surfaces, so it feels more like a flying carpet ride. It is also known for its silent cabin space, with minimal noise from outside, creating a cocoon-like tranquility.

With an appealing 5-door SUV-style design and 170 mm ground clearance (the highest in its class), it delivers a sense of security and confidence when handling the variety of road conditions in the ASEAN region. The 10-inch touch screen, which supports wireless communication via Apple CarPlayTM and Android AutoTM, delivers a seamless driving experience for both the driver and passengers. This comfort continues with a cabin air conditioning system specifically developed for tropical climates and a very spacious cabin area for up to five passengers.

The zero-emission electric motor delivers a smooth and quiet driving experience makes the Ë-C3 a companion for both everyday commutes and weekend escapes, offering peace of mind on every journey. The Citroën Ë-C3 has a range of 320km, with an output up to 57 PS and torque of 143 Nm enables acceleration from 0-60 km/h in only 6.8 seconds and top speed of 107 km/h.

Citroën Indonesia kicked off deliveries of theË-C3 since July 14th, priced starting at Rp.377,000,000.

Citroën Showcases Three Modified Cars At GIIAS 2024
At the GIIAS 2024 event, visitors were treated to a trio of uniquely themed models such as the adventure-ready Citroën C3 Aircross SUV Edition Aventure, the sporty Citroën E-C3 Le Sportif, and the elegantly Citroën E-C3 Edition Blanche with white colour exterior and interior. These modified beauties turned heads alongside the standard Citroën E-C3, C3 Aircross, and even the C5.

To celebrate GIIAS 2024, Citroën Indonesia enticed attendees with exclusive promotional incentives, making a Citroën the perfect choice for discerning car buyers.
